Sue Hare
iSpace
Sue Hare has served as the Executive Director of iSPACE, a STEM education provider in the Greater Cincinnati region, since 2020. Sue holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University. Before joining iSPACE, she spent eighteen years in various engineering positions at GE Aerospace, including compressor design, engine testing, and engine systems engineering. While she enjoyed the work, she felt compelled to share her love of STEM with the next generation. So, she left the corporate world for education. After receiving her MA in Education, Sue joined iSPACE in 2011. She managed grants, educational projects, and events and generated and delivered curricula for students, teachers, and community organizations. She served as Educator, Special Programs Coordinator, and then Education Director before her current role. In 2022, she was honored as one of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Women of the Year for her work with iSPACE during the chaos of COVID. She strives to be part of real change by facilitating opportunities for all to be inspired and passionate about STEM. In her personal life, she enjoys traveling with Ty, her husband of 39 years, singing in the church choir, reading, music, and spending time with her three grandchildren.
